All Day

The Forum is organized by the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs’ Network (AWEN) in collaboration with the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on MSME (ACCMSME), the De-partment of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines, the Women’s Business Council (WomenBizPH), the ASEAN-Business Advisory Council (A-BAC), and the Philippines Committee on Investment and Business Promotion (PCIBP).

The first day  of the Forum focused on how technology is allowing large multinational corporations like UPS as well as micro-startups such as Honesty Apps to take the leap and unlock the potential of the ASEAN region. Technology is also making it more and more accessible for women entrepreneurs to thrive – as demonstrated by the tech-powered women on the Forum’s second panel who shared their journeys to success including failures and challenges along the way.

The second day of the Forum began with an exciting dialogue on ASEAN integration where MaGIC Malaysia’s Ashran Ghazi proposed a partnership between businesses and startups across the 10 countries to catalyze innovation in the region, the 10 by 10 program. During the plenary panel discussion on Financing Your Growth, the panelists shared their experiences seeking financial support. They pointed out that the relation-ship between entrepreneurs and investors is based on trust, regardless of gender. However, they also shared the challenges and gaps faced by female founders, but the women panel speakers all agreed that women are actually highly skilled in various are-as including marketing and finance, while also giving great attention to detail. Demonstrations of Tech Tools for Entrepreneurs were then given by PayPal, Google and Product I/O.
